Art lovers rejoice! This season LA is a visual feast, with must-see art shows, exhibitions, and immersive experiences, many not far from The Pearl. Frieze Los Angeles is a leading international art fair that was launched in 2019, focusing on contemporary art and celebrating the dynamic culture of Los Angeles and its global contributions to the visual arts.

Feb 26 Celebrate LACMA’s current exhibitions and discover the museum after hours while enjoying drinks and music on the plaza! Food will be available for purchase at the LACMA Café and LACMA Marketplace, alongside cash bars.The LACMA store will be open. Explore all the art on view, including new and recently opened exhibitions. This is an all-ages event that is free to attend, but RSVP is required. Over the last four decades, image-editing software has radically transformed our visual world. The ease with which images and text can be digitally generated and altered has enabled new forms of creative experimentation, while also sparking philosophical debates about the very nature of representation. Digital Witness: Revolutions in Design, Photography, and Film examines the impact of digital manipulation tools from the 1980s to the present, for the first time assessing simultaneous developments and debates in the fields of photography, graphic design, and visual effects.

Animation & Me immerses viewers in projections of clips, concept art, and behind-the-scenes footage that illustrate the art and process of animation. Intended for all ages, the space encourages moments of reflection and interaction, including select screens that invite visitors to draw images pulled from the Academy’s extensive animation art collection. The gallery content spans the entire history of animation, and a range of animation techniques and studios. Guests are invited to bring paper and erasable pencils to sketch their favorite characters. Colored pencils, crayons, markers, and all other art-marking materials are not allowed in the galleries.

An in-depth installation of Andy Warhol features 26 works (11 on view for the first time at The Broad) by the artist, including Mao (1973), 40 Gold Marilyns (1980), and Liz [Early Colored Liz] (1963). Liz [Early Colored Liz] is a celebrated work featuring a silkscreened image of Elizabeth Taylor, who represented both celebrity and beauty, as well as tragedy for the artist. An outcome of sustained and ongoing engagement with artists and artwork, the Broad has highlighted expansive presentations in the third floor galleries, featuring Jean-Michel Basquiat, Roy Lichtenstein, and Andy Warhol, along with works by many others.
